This rich compote is a perfect easy dessert for any moment of the day.

Ingredients
  • 1kg cherries plums
  • 300g caster sugar
  • 1 vanilla pod
Directions
  • Step 1 Put the cherry plums into a wide, deep frying pan, cover it with water, then bring to the boil.
  • Step 2 Cook for 15 mins, stirring now and again until the fruit is starting to soften.
  • Step 3 Tip in the sugar, stir until it dissolves
  • Step 4 Add vanilla, then bring back to the boil.
  • Step 5 Bon app├ętit
